The Arts

Link Shawn Henderson, Chairperson

Over the past 60 years, the Links have had a keen devotion to the Arts. The Arts facet is focused upon cultural enrichment and preservation. The West Palm Beach Chapter is committed to providing exposure to African-American artists, and well as exposing under-privileged children to the Arts. Through this facet, the Links have help to ensure that the Arts remain an integral part of our society, and to assist our future leaders in becoming well-rounded citizens. Some of the programs of The Arts Facet include:

• Art Smart Continuing Arts Education at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts: “ African-American Film Festival co-sponsored by the WPB Chapter of The Links, Incorporated and hosted by Link Freddie “Stebbins” Jefferson
• “Ain’t Misbehavin”: theatre production featuring the artwork of Danny Simmons, presented by Artists Showcase of the Palm Beaches
• “Tutankhamun And The Golden Age of the Pharoah”: Exhibit at the Museum of Art, Fort Lauderdale
• Annual financial assistance to the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts
• Annual financial assistance to Artists Showcase of the Palm Beaches
