Thanks to the efforts of chairperson Link Dawn Wynn, members of the Walk-A-Thon committee, and members of the The West Palm Beach Chapter of the Links, Inc., the West Palm Beach Chapter donated proceeds from the 10th Annual Walk-A-Thon, which was held on Saturday, January 29, 2005, to Adopt-A Family of the Palm Beaches.  The Links' donation is specially earmarked for Adopt-A-Family's Project Uplift program.  Adopt-A-Family is a 501 (c ) (3 ) not-for-profit, charitable organization founded in 1983 by three Palm Beach County women who recognized the need to help families with children who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.  Project Uplift provides short-term (up to 3 months) assistance to families.  Program participants are taught problem-solving skills and how to find solutions based on available, identifiable resources.
