On December 21, 2006, the West Palm Beach Chapter of The Links, Inc., sponsored a Holiday party for more than 150 children, parents and teachers at the Amar Child Development Center in West Palm Beach. The party included children from Easter Seals and Head Start. The Links provided food, drinks and desserts, while the kids took pictures with Santa and enjoyed the day.
The West Palm Beach Links held their Chapter Retreat on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at Bear Lakes Country Club. Links members enjoyed the affair where we learned "What We Did This Summer" and "Bridged the Generation Gap." President Sia Barnes gave the year in review and introduced our theme for the year, "Raising the Bar: Taking the West Palm Beach Chapter of The Links, Inc., to the Next Level." Over a full breakfast including an omelets station, Vice-President Dena Bryant addressed the membership and programming, and Recording Secretary Kalinthia Dillard got the members excited about our upcoming Walk-A-Thon.
Walk-A-Thon 2005
The West Palm Beach Chapter held its Annual Chapter Retreat on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at the home of Link Sia Barnes. Links Sisters were dressed to impress for the Caribbean Themed "Summer Beach Retreat." We showed off our cooking skills, with each Link providing a Caribbean dish. Some of the favorites included homemade conch fritters, jerk chicken, coconut shrimp and much, much more! We were impressed by the presentations from the Social Committee regarding upcoming events. Link Rosalyn Baker unveiled the new Chapter Calendar and Link Barbara McCray gave a us a preview of our exciting 2006 National Assembly in Philadelphia. Special Guest Link Joyce Dixon of the Brevard County Chapter, and former Southern Area Director, provided us with insight, wisdom and motivated us as we continue to reach our goals of friendship and service. Thank you to Executive Board for planning this event and working hard to make it a success!
The West Palm Beach Chapter's Social Committee hosted Links Bowling Night on Friday, September 16, 2005. Links and their families and friends enjoyed a night of fun, food and bowling!
