Link Lines Hurricane Katrina Relief Letter

Dear Sister Links,

I am reaching out to each of you for your help in order to insure that we can assist all of our Sister Links who may need our aide. Charity will be at the forefront of our thinking over the next days and weeks as we plan strategies that will assist those persons whom we have pledged to serve. We will be vigilant and steadfast in our objective to learn of members in our sisterhood who have been negatively impacted by Hurricane Katrina so that we can offer meaningful assistance to them. Sister Links, I am asking each of you to send information to me on any and all of our Link Sisters who need our assistance. Provide us with names and addresses and telephone numbers so that we can reach our Sister Links and offer assistance. Let us know that everyone in your chapter is all right or in need. Many of us are continuing to replay over and over in our minds the events we are seeing displayed on TV relative to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. We are overwhelmed by this story because we know there is much still to unfold and much of it will include pain, suffering, and grief. We sincerely pray for our loved ones, friends, and strangers alike who were and continue to be in harms way. It is clear that we cannot truly understand all that we have seen, nor can we understand how or why people must struggle through situations such as this catastrophe. During times such as these, we must continue to have faith, hope and charity. Moreover, we should take comfort in knowing that the Master’s plan is always perfect and right.
